I’m also curious if the people who cancelled the D3 expansion are the same people who decided to use an outdated MMO server list design in Immortal or if they just have a large number of people making bad choices at all levels. We’re talking about an 11 year content drought for Diablo outside of minor additions to RoS, including the Necro (which was probably going to be an expansion character). They could have worked on D4 and finished the D3 expansion. I do agree with the higher ups on some of why they had no confidence in the D3 team, they did mess up a lot of stuff, but to cancel the second expansion before RoS was even released (as claimed in this article: from a member of the team) was just an exceptionally terrible choice. It’s definitely too late now with D4 around the corner. I think a second expansion would have sold a decent number of copies, but I guess we’ll never know. There was a lot of room for D3 improvements and additional content, including some of the things they gave to Immortal (like PvP modes).
